FONTANA, San Bernardino County — Fontana residents who want to follow city finances, neighborhood development, traffic plans and public safety decisions can review City Council agendas and attend council meetings.
The official City Council page gives the regular meeting schedule as the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. The stated location is the Steelworkers’ Auditorium, 8437 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335. The city publishes agendas, minutes and council videos on its website.
What residents should look for
Council packets can include proposed ordinances, contracts, spending decisions and land-use actions. The presence of an item on an agenda does not mean the council has approved it. Residents should check recorded votes, official minutes and final documents to determine what actually happened.
The city also relies on boards and commissions that make advisory recommendations. A commission recommendation may be important, but it should not be confused with final City Council adoption.
How to take part
Residents can identify their council district through the city’s district lookup and contact elected representatives. Check the agenda for any particular meeting to confirm that it has not been canceled or rescheduled, and to read the public-comment instructions. Some hearings have their own notice and participation rules.
For general city information, Fontana lists City Hall at 16860 Valencia Avenue and telephone 909-350-7600. The city says its normal office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
